Wilhelm E. Brown, new President of the Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka
View(s):Wilhelm E. Brown, General Manager of Alpha Travels & Holidays Pvt Ltd, a member of the “Finco Group” has been elected as the President of the Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL).
The 41st Annual General Meeting of the Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL), was held recently in Manila, Philippines.
Apart from, Mr. Brown’s election as President for the year 2016/2017 period, Trevor Rajaratnam, CEO of Travel7 Pvt Ltd was also elected as the Vice President.
In the meantime, the following were elected to the Executive Council of TAASL: Nishantha Senaveratne, General Manager of Aitken Spence Travels (Pvt) Ltd; Channa Wijemanne, Senior Director of George Steuarts Travel International Ltd; Riza Ahamat, Managing Director of Hemas Travels (Pvt) Ltd; Jude Conrad, Managing Director of Himpras Tours (Pvt) Ltd; Lawrence Fernando, Managing Director of Lando Travels; Sanjay Weerakoon, CEO of Mackinnons Travels (Pvt) Ltd; Rimzi Nazeer,
Managing Partner of Skymark Travels; Tillak Dayalan Wickremasinghe, Chairman of Skyways; Omar – Ul – Shibly Shamsudeen, Director Operations of Traveller Global
Destinations & Leisure Holidays (Pvt) Ltd; Niranjan Dalpethado, Manager of Hayleys Travels & Tours (Pvt) Ltd and Mr. S. Paramanathan, Managing Director of Atlas Lanka (Pvt) Ltd as the immediate Past President.
TAASL, formed in 1974 as a body to represent the interests of the Sri Lankan Travel Agencies has a membership of 168 members.
