A group of French travel agents had a thrilling ride on board the Colombo City Tour recently.

They were shown the city’s ‘old and new’ landmarks which included the Gangarama Seema Malakaya which was designed by the renowned Architect Geoffrey Bawa, British-era buildings on York Street, Independence Square, the Arcade and other interesting places that highlighted the rich cultural diversity of Sri Lanka’s commercial capital. They also saw the new high-rises and megapolis projects that were coming up in the city.

More than 300 French travel agents were in Sri Lanka for the Annual Congress of the French Travel Agents Association — Le Journées de Entrepreneurs du Voyages (JEV). This is the first time such an event took place in Sri Lanka.
