‘Rockestra’, one of the biggest fusion concert with Classic music and Classic Rock, will come alive at the open air theatre of the Vihara Maha Devi Park on 25the November starting at 7.30pm.

A twenty four piece Orchestra and the best voices in western music come together to give Rockestra, a Classic Funtime Production.

The first ever Rockestra came alive in 2006 and was a sellout concert. It was a two hour performance of the Classic /Rock songs performed by the cream of singers and musicians from the Sri Lanka’s Western music scene.The very first Rockestra was produced by Saibo of Funtime.

Rockestra returns to the stage on Friday, 25 November after a decade to boost the music of this genre.
It now returns bigger and better, with a minimum of 30 players on stage at any given time and the biggest names in rock strut their stuff in a one night only performance.

Rockestra combines a 24 piece classical orchestra with a host of the most talented musicians Sri Lanka has, in a revival of a nostalgic musical journey spanning the music of Pink Floyd , Joe Cocker, Deep Purple and the very best Classic Rock of the 70s and 80s

40 voices – the best in the country will get on stage to enthrall the fans with a range of nostalgic music and video graphics that are guarantee to blow your mind away on 25th November.

The performers include, Sri Lanka’s very own Rock legend Chitral Somapala, Guitar Wizard Derick Wikramanayake who is the founding member of Wildfire , Harsha Makalande and Khrome, Mirage led by former Amazing Grace star Donald Piers, veteran Geoff Fernando of Purple Rain fame, Russel Fernando who returns to the stage in a one night only performance, the Crown Prince of present day rock and the leader of ‘Slipping Chairs’ Dylan Manuel, Sri Lanka’s first lady of song Noeline Honter, Shane Berenger, the versatile and dynamic Kevin Almeida, a 20 piece orchestra who will perform a stunning rendition of classical rock and Sherry and who rules in her genre, all of whom will be on stage at Rockestra .
