‘Spin a Disc’ for Trail 2016

‘Spin a Disc’ event which was held at Park street Mews “The stables” recently, bringing together 17 well known DJs from yesteryear to current, raised over Rupees two million for Trail project for cancer treatment facility in Karapitiya, and the presentation was held at Galle Face recently .
The DJs who participated included Harpo, Gerry Jayasinghe, Roshan Wijeratne, Kapila, Roshan Perera, Tareeq, Wendell, Pradeep, Bonnie, Naushad, Dr J, Bunty, Everton, Ben, Tim, Viran and Nuchila.
Trail, was brought to life through the fusion of two separate dreams – Sarinda Unamboowe’s pledge to walk the length of Sri Lanka if the ongoing civil war were to cease and Nathan Sivagananathan’s vision to drive the nations fight against cancer.
The 28 day journey, to walk 675 km along the length of Sri Lanka while raising funds has achieved tremendous support and involved all communities creating the awareness and the togetherness for all to come together for a noble cause.
Trail is one of the largest charity walks in the country to raise funds for better cancer treatment facilities in Sri Lanka. All are walking collectively to fight our nation’s battle against cancer.
The organisation behind Trail, the Colours of Courage Trust (COC), and a non-profit organisation dedicated to uplifting treatment facilities at the National Cancer Institute, Maharagama was founded in 2008. To-date the Colours of Courage Trust has carried out several fund raising initiatives, the funds of which have been utilised to build the Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Units at the National Cancer Institute.
