Nine-year-old Chalani Dewmini Soysa Hannadige underwent surgery for a heart condition in MIOT Hospital in Chennai on August 7. It was later found that Chalani’s right leg is 18.5 millimetres shorter than her left. On the request of the doctor she has a full review appointment in Chennai , scheduled for the second week of December.
She will be accompanied to Chennai by her father N.S. Pradeep Nalaka Soysa Hannadige and mother Gamage Shiranthi Harshani Mirinnamulla. The cost for Chalani’s review and hospital charges would be Rs.390,000 without lodging for the parents to stay in Chennai.

As Chalani’s father is a minor employee at a company based in Colombo and can- not cover the whole cost, her family is desperately seeking donations from generous people.
