One such young entrepreneur Hasith Suriyapperuma, with a passion for fashion has entered into the lifestyle apparel arena in Sri Lanka introducing an online platform to market his latest brand Liberado.
With a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) on International Business from Edith Cowan University and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree on Chemical Engineering, from Oklahoma State University, he realised his dream of pursuing his own career after serving in the apparel industry as Manager Operations at Nienhuis Asia Pvt Ltd, and Industrial Engineer, MAS Holdings – Noyon Lanka for around four years.
He launched his e-commerce platform recently offering both local and international delivery for today’s digital savvy customers both here in Sri Lanka and overseas.
The web site offers a range of collection in dresses, blouses, skirts, pants, Tops, Rompers and Jumpsuits for girls and t -shirts, shirts, shorts and pants for young men and a special discount is offered on selected items for online purchases.

He told the Business Times, “the brand Liberado endorses individuality and expressions and in that sense, it is venturing out to create a nice, bright and colourful fashion option for the youth of this country”.
He also spoke about the concept behind his brand saying that Liberado is a lifestyle fashion brand that represents freedom, youth and style, inspired by the love for fashion, the thirst for a challenge and the compulsion for liberation.
Sri Lanka is experiencing a surge in online shopping, especially among the urban youth and young adults at present.
“With this trend, we are offering innovative fashion designs by a specially trained local team taking customer convenience one step further and allowing them to purchase their favourite clothing and fashion garments without having to leave the comfort of their homes,” he said.
