Royal play it safe against Mahanama

Tons by Malindu Maduranga and Eshan Hettiarachchi helped Mahanama Colombo to come out on top against Royal to gain a deserving first inning win in their Under 19 inter-school cricket concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.
Malindu cracked a 106 ball knock of 115 which included nine boundaries and five sixes while Heshan hit a 102 that comprised nine boundaries and four sixes with the pair putting on a valuable 92 runs for the seventh wicket enabling Mahanama end with a formidable score of 398.
Royal in their turn was making steady progress and was well placed on 197 for 4 but the dismissal of Ronuka Jayawardena who made a 95 saw them losing wickets at regular intervals as they folded up for 233.
St. Sebastian’s too gained an easy first innings win over St. Anthony’s Wattala in the match which ended at Wattala. St Sebastian’s after making a modest score of 195 bowled out the Antonians for a score of 150.
