Sarasaviya Film Award one of the rear recognitions that film personalities yearned to win specially during the time of golden era in cinema has made a comeback. The ceremony that returns breaking 8 years of silence will be held at 6 pm on December 15 at Nelum Pokuna.

Organised by Sarasaviya arts and cinema tabloid, the first Sarasaviya Film festival was held on May 9, 1964.

Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Art Direction, Best make up, Best sound, Bes Music, Best Lyrics, Best Male and Female Play back singers and Best up and coming actor and actress are some of the awards to be given away on the night of December 15.
