Rukshan launches latest DVD
View(s):Popular musician Rukshan Perera launched his latest DVD – Rukshan Perera Live In Concert VI on DVD. The DVD, his third was launched at Curve Bar, Park Street Mews on December 14 in aid of Sunera Foundation that promotes disability arts.

The songs are all Rukshan’s compositions and arrangements in different styles and genres – some with serious lyrics and others sheer fun. Rukshan also has three songs for all peace loving Sri Lankans – “Eka Mawekuge Daruwo” (a song on racial and religious harmony), “Bless Our Land Sri Lanka”, and “He’s Out” a special dedication for Sri Lankan cricketers.
Not many musicians in Sri Lanka compose, arrange, record, produce and then perform English originals in the genres of pop, blues, jazz, acapella all on one stage while playing multiple instruments. The DVD also has well known Sri Lankan tunes with Rukshan’s interpretations and arrangements. Specially arranged Acapella medleys of Clarence Wijewardena and Nimal Mendis’ Master Sir with special acts to bring out the emotions on stage featuring Choro Calibre will take you back to the wonderful 70s music with new interpretations and incredible harmony on stage.
