1. Illuminate pedestrian crossings on either sides of the road.

2. Install flickering amber lights on both sides of the road so that the motorist is made aware in advance that they are approaching a pedestrian crossing.

3. All push cycles should be provided with tail lights red on both sides of rear mudguards.

4. All push cycle should have a light in front.

5. All push cycle should be registered and renewed on an annual basis to be handled by local government authorities.

6. At the time of renewal of cycle licence, the cycle should be produced so that the issuing authority could check the functioning of the lights both in the front and rear.

7. Police should be authorized to charge vehicles overtaking from the left. This is only possible if there is one lane of traffic in a single direction. When there are two or three lanes it’s not practical to implement this rule .

8. Roads are over populated with trishaws and containers and some control has to be introduced since they are the worst offenders on public highways.
