Unique sounds of Salvage
After forming in 2008, Salvage went through a brief hiatus from 2012-2014, and is now once again sailing strong with their new line-up.
Recently they released their 5th single ‘Stains’ which captivated the hearts of many rock fans in the city. After 5 single releases, Salvage is now working towards the release of their first Studio album, in 2017.
Salvage churns out songs with uplifting melodies and riffs intricately wound with personally captivating lyrics which hold the listener by their senses.
Consisting of CC, Sajana, Shali, Suren & Ubu, SALVAGE has become a recognizable name in the Sri Lankan Original music scene, with memorable, local chart topping singles like ‘The Storm’, ‘Identity’, ‘Sublime’ and ‘Follow You Home’ and high flying guest performances at TNL Onstage in the Park and Yes FM Home Grown Music awards.
Their new music, like the recent crowd favourites “Juxtaposed” and “Erased but not forgotten”, have more progressive and metal elements, whilst songs like “Wings that make me soar” and “Stains” will hit home with any alternative rock lover.
Between Chrisantha “CC” de Silva’s baritone vocals, extending upto a surprising high reinforced falsetto, Udaya “Ubu” Wickramage’s unorthodox work on the skins, Sajana “Boo” Bupathis and Shalinda “Happy Feet” Halpes, surprisingly unusual guitar love story and Suren de Kauwe’s, rock-solid bass work, the band has found a home and equilibrium for it’s sound, and many of their fans agree, the most unique one yet.
Salvage also brings a unique energy to stage, during their live performances. Their High-Energy performances are also laced with some comic relief, as Boo rightfully said “It feels like I’m making music with a bunch of comedians.”
