French comedies at AF Colombo

Alliance Francaise de Colombo will showcase two French comedy films at its weekly film screening on Tuesday and Wednesday at the AF auditorium.
‘Le Dîner de Cons’-The Dinner Game, 1998 film by Francis Veber will be screened at 3 pm on January 10 and at 6.30 pm on January 11.
To amuse themselves at a weekly dinner, a few well-heeled folk each bring a dimwit along who is to talk about his pastime. Each member seeks to introduce a champion dumbbell. Pierre, an avid participant of the game, runs into one problem after another that devilishly compromises his secrets, turning the tables on him and his objective, which diverges as the movie progresses.
Directed by Michel Leclerc, comedy film ‘Le nom des gens’ (The Name of Love) revolving around a young, extroverted left-wing activist who sleeps with her political opponents to convert them to her cause will be screened at 3 pm on Jan. 17 and at 6.30 pm on Jan. 18.
Bahia Benmahmoud, outgoing young woman, has a high idea to be in politics, would not hesitate even if she were to sleep with her enemies in order to make them accept her objective which means at cost of many people of the right faction.
