Lasith (156 n.o.) guides CCC to massive 560

CCC’s Lasith Abeyratne made an unbeaten 156 runs in 204 balls that included 12 boundaries and three six to end their innings making a mammoth 560 against Moors SC on day two in the Premier Tier A cricket encounter played at Braybrooke Place.
Moors SC in their turn fell into deep trouble as they lost their top five wickets with only 94 runs on the board before some sensible batting in the late order helped them end the day on 257 for 8.
Army SC was in a strong position against Colts CC when play ended on the second day in the match played at the Colts ground. Army SC bowlers Nuwan Liyanapathirana, Dushan Vimukthi, Viraj Pushpakumara and Seekkuge Prasanna combined with effect to bowl out Colts from their overnight score of 51 for 5 to a score of 112.
An unbeaten knock of 123 by Jeevan Mendis supported by half ton from Sithara Gimhana saw Tamil Union score 395 for 7 on day two in the match played at P. Sara Stadium.
Left arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara wrecked the SSC batting as he ended with a seven wicket haul to give Chilaw Marians the edge in the match played at the FTZ ground in Katunayake.
