Dilshan slams career best knock of 191
CCC opener and right hand batsman Dilshan Munaweera slammed career best knock of 191 in just 179 balls to help his side post a score of 326 against BRC on day one in the Premier Tier A cricket encounter played at the CCC ground.
Dilshan’s knock had 21 boundaries and five sixes and in the process was associated in three fruitful partnerships. First was an opening wicket stand of 70 runs with Ron Chandragupta and the other of 94 runs for the third wicket with Madawa Warnapura. This was followed by an 81 runs stand for the fifth wicket with Wanindu Hasaranga.
BRC in reply ended the day on 56 for no loss. The match will be continued today.
Milinda Siriwardena cracked 121 runs which included 12 boundaries and four sixes for Saracens SC against Army SC in the match played at Braybrooke Place.
Milinda’s knock comprised 12 boundaries and three sixes and he also put on two valuable partnerships. That was of 93 runs for the third wicket with skipper Harsha Cooray and 82 runs for the fourth wicket with Umesh Karunaratne for Saracens SC batting first to make a score of 358.
An unbroken 103 runs stand for the ninth wicket between Akila Dhananjaya and Prabath Jayasuriya who both made unbeaten half tons enabled Colts CC end day one on 301 for 8 against Ragama CC at the NCC ground.
Chilaw Marians was on top against Bloomfield at the end of the first day’s play at Reid Avenue. Chilaw Marians after making 291 had Bloomfield struggling on 73 for 4.
SSC dominated proceedings against Galle CC on the opening day’s play at Galle. SSC after bundling out Galle CC for a low score of 128 ended the day in a strong position of 121 for 1.
