CCC in command with two huge centuries
R on Chandragupta and Lahiru Madusanka cracked contrasting tons to guide CCC to a strong position against Tamil Union in a high scoring match at the end of the second day’s play in the Premier Super Eight cricket encounter played at the Colts ground.

This was in reply to SSC’s score of 293 and SSC batting the second time ended the day on 124 for 7 for a lead of 317 runs.
NCC too has taken a first innings lead over Ragama CC when play stopped for lunch on the second day at the CCC ground. The first day’s play saw NCC after making a modest score of 265 had Ragama CC struggling on 43 for 6 and Ragama CC continuing on day two recovered thanks to a half ton by Sameera de Zoysa which helped them end with a respectable score of 127.
The low scoring match between Chilaw Marians and Army SC being played at P. Sara Stadium pointed out to an interesting finish when play ended on the second day.
The ding-dong battle saw Chilaw Marians after being bowled out for 190 succeeded to restrict Army SC to a score of 183 and Chilaw Marians batting second time was out for 148 and Army SC left with a target of 152 runs for victory was on 24 for 2 needing a further 128 runs when play gets underway on the third day today.
