Dilesh and Alankara reck havoc at Havelock Park
Badureliya SC’s left arm pace and right arm spin combination of Dilesh Gunaratne and Alankara Asanka wrecked the batting of Moors SC on day two to give them the advantage when play stopped on day two in the Premier Plate Championship cricket encounter played at the BRC ground.
Dilesh and Alankara shared eight wickets to send Moors SC stumbling from a strong position of 157 for 3 at lunch break to a score of 214 runs.
Earlier Sahan Wijeratne hit a 102 that included nine boundaries for Badureliya SC taking first lease of the wicket to make a score of 300.
Milinda Siriwardena steered Saracens SC with an unbeaten knock of 115 as he was involved in two fruitful partnerships that of 64 runs for the second wicket with Sangeeth Cooray and the other of 109 runs for the fourth wicket with Umesh Karunaratne helping them to take a first inning lead against Galle CC day two in the match played at Reid Avenue.
BRC was making steady progress against Bloomfield in the match played at Panagoda. The second day’s play saw Bloomfield from their overnight score of 290 for 8 going on to make 317 and BRC in their turn ended the day on 236 for 6.
