New music by the late George Michael may come out soon. Weeks before his death George Michael is reported to have been recording new songs for an album to be released this year. He was working with producer Naughty Boy. In a recent report from the UK, it appears the late pop star recorded a song for Naughty Boy as well and the producer may release the duet shortly. George Michael was found dead on Christmas Day at his home in England.

Meanwhile ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has named her new born son after her friend George Michael. The baby born on 21st January has been named Montague George Hector Horner.

Jay Z the rap star and music mogul has sold 33% of the music streaming service Tidal which he owns few others to a company called Sprint Corp. Jay Z is the husband of R&B singer Beyonce.

Celine Dion has revealed that she will be performing a new song for the Disney film ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ The new song ‘How Does A Moment Last Forever’ will be played during the credits runs at the end of the film. Dion sang ‘Beauty And The Beast’ with Peabo Bryson for the animated version of the film in 1991. The same song has now been recorded by Ariana Grande and John Legend for the new movie which stars Emma Watson and Dan Stevens.

Michael Buble has pulled out of hosting the Brit Awards schedule for February 22 at the O2 Arena, London. The Canadian crooner has sighted his son’s battle with cancer. Buble’s son Noah was diagnosed last November and has begun chemotherapy according to reports in Los Angeles.

Ed Sheeran continues to dominate the UK singles chart for a second week as his two top singles remain unshaken at No’s 1 and 2.  “Shape Of You” is a pop song with a slight tropical pop tinge. As it retained the UK singles crown for a second week, it has done so with sales of 139,000 copies and certified Gold by the BPI. Also “Shape Of You” has now reached No: 1 in every major market namely, Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, and Germany. Ireland, New Zealand, Sweden and the US. This has been Sheeran most successful global chart hit ever.

Ed’s other single ‘Castle On The Hill’ has added spice to his forthcoming album ‘÷’ as it has sold over 100,000 copies to retain the No: 2 position. Sheeran performed the song on the Graham North Show recently. ‘Castle On The Hill’ is the No: 2 song in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand and Sweden. Both Sheeran’s hits have been promoted without video clips until January 22.

Chainsmokers saw their new song “Paris” debut on the UK top at No: 10. The EDM/ synthpop track is the third UK top ten for the US duo. “Paris” is also a standalone release and features the vocals of Emily Warren mid through the song. Earlier in the week ‘Paris’ was the most trending song.  The Chainsmokers last top hit ‘Closer’ featuring Halsey topped the UK chart last year.
