Walkers-Whittalls overall Champs dethrone grounded SriLankan
With SriLankan Airlines out of the way, a combined team from Walkers Tours & Whittalls Travels (Walkers-Whittalls) were overall winners after 31 meets, at the 32nd Travel Trade Sports Club (TTSC) Swimming Championships 2016 sponsored by Luxe Asia, and concluded at the Thurstan College pool last Sunday. There were 83 events including 8 relays, for Men and Women, under Novices and Championship categories, and conducted in association with Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union.
Diethlem Travels-Serendib Leisure (Diethlem-Serendib) overcame Cinnamon City Hotels by 2 points- 104-102- in a keen tussle for 2nd and 3rd places respectively, due to fine performances by Chandana Vidanapathirana (Championship 30-34 age category) and H.L.S. Ananda (Championship 35-39 age category.) .
The 4-member team from Heritance Ahungalle performed extremely well to come 4th in the Championship, with Hilton Colombo- 5, Ozo Colombo- 6, Club Bentota- 7, Kingsbury Hotel- 8, Amaya Hills Kandy- 9, Infinity Vacations- 10, Luxe Asia- 11 and Classic Travels- 12.
Walkers-Whittalls Women scored more points (90) than their Men (63) to finish overall winners with 153 points. Director- Luxe Asia, Chaminda Dias was the Chief Guest and awarded the Medals.  - LR
