New hi-tech camera launched in Sri Lanka

The Arri Alexa Super XT camera and Ultra Prime lenses were officially launched in Sri Lanka on January 13. The products, the latest in its range, are used in more than 80 percent of Hollywood productions.

Hans Salzinger, Director – Sales of Arri Alexa Germany and Philipp Chudalla, who was one of the camera directors of the James Bond movie ‘Skyfall’ made a detailed presentation about the camera and its lenses.

The launch at Waters’ Edge was held parallel to the appointment of Sunil Ratnayake as the coordinator for foreign films and television productions in Sri Lanka. Mr. Ratnayake is a senior cinema and television professional with 30 years of experience. The appointment letter was presented by Tourism Minister John Amaratunga. Ministers Rajitha Senaratne and Ravi Karunanayake were among the invitees.
