South African cricket seeks Sri Lankan sponsors
View(s):South African cricket authorities last week reached out to Sri Lanka’s corporate world, offering a chance to sponsor teams in a new T20 league tournament at the start of its 2017 domestic cricket season.
In a tender notice in a local newspaper, governing body Cricket South Africa announced an invitation to secure franchise ownership for the new tournament.
The governing body invited individuals, companies and consortiums to express their interest in owning any of the eight privately-owned teams in the league to be played in the last quarter of 2017. It is expected to include both national and international players competing on a home-and-away basis. Expressions of interest were called from interested parties by or before March 3.
