Sean Paul enters the charts with ‘No Lie’

Scoring an entry to the UK top 10 singles chart is Sean Paul with his new song ‘No Lie’ featuring Dua Lipa. ‘No Lie’ is a stand lone release which gives the Jamaican dancehall rapper his first UK top 10 in four years. Of course Sean Paul had luck in a different aspect when he was featured on Clean Bandit’s recent chart topping song ‘Rockabye’. ‘No Lie’ is a classic Sean Paul track as Dua Lipa’s vocals blends well on the chorus. Dua Lipa is one of best artist to be discovered in 2016. Her own single is just behind ‘No Lie’ at the No: 11. ‘No Lie’ is Paul’s 11th UK top 10 hit song. He had a further six as a featured artist.
Ed Sheeran is here to stay as the singer song writer consolidates his position on the music scene in both his home country and globally. His current two singles ‘Shape Of You’ and ‘Castle On The Hill’ has been phenomenal both debuting at the No: 1 and No: 2 spots respectively. As he sang into the records books shortly after the two songs were released, they have dominated the chart in most countries where they occupy the top two positions on the charts except the US (where only ‘Shape Of You’ went to No: 1). In the UK ‘Shape Of You’ and ‘Castle On The Hill’ are at 1 and 2 on the singles chart for a fourth consecutive week. ‘Shape Of You’ pushed 47,000 copies with 8.8 million streams in the week leading up the current countdown. The song is the singer’s third UK No: 1 following ‘Sing’ and ‘Thinking Out Loud’ both in 2014. Sheeran who turns 25 on 17 February is also gearing up for his album release ‘÷’ and his upcoming global tour.
Selena Gomez could on course to release new music. The 24 year singer took to social media on 3rd February to post snippets of a song which has not been identified as yet. Also tagged to her is the Norwegian DJ, record producer and writer Kygo. Selena’s last album ’Revival’ came out in 2015.
Michael Buble has issued a statement on social media indicating his son Noah is progressing to his cancer treatment. Buble and his wife thanked fans and others for prayers and well wishes for their son’s recovery. Buble recently pulled out of hoisting the Brit Awards this month in London.
Mariah Carey’s video clip for her new single ‘I Don’t’ is drawing a lot of attention as it features a wedding dress being set on fire. It is widely believed the diva she sets her $250,000 custom Valentino wedding dress she was to wear to her nuptials with then fiancé James Packer.
Kylie Minogue had good news and bad news last week. She had success on two fronts. She signed a new recording deal with BMG UK and announced her 14 album will be out this year. Also she successfully fought off an attempt by reality TV star Kylie Jenner to trademark the name Kylie in the US. Sadly she announced on social media that she had split up with her fiancé Joshua Sasse.
