NO GREEN LIGHT YET
View(s):A junior squad is hard at training at an up country venue in order to gain high altitude training. But the strange thing is that so far no coach has been appointed to see to their training. It is in the air that a coach has been selected from parent body but the higher authorities have still not given the green light for this coach!
THE COPE REPORT
The COPE Report on this subject is out and the strange thing is that two former greats are reportedly at the receiving end. One is about a sport that is very popular in the island and the other is about a ball that is being kicked about. Both these individuals held centre stage in the past and it is hard to imagine that they are involved in such matters involving large sums of money.
IS IT WORTH WHILE?
The next trip is to Down Under with the T20 games to be played there. Already a large number of officials are getting ready to go there with their spouses on the guise of gaining Aid for the sport. Last time such a trip was made the expenses were greater than the money they made. One wonders whether it is worth while making such tours.
THE GREAT BOOMARANG
Now to that great match fixing incident in the South. An inquiry is now going on and it has now boomeranged on the officials. How come they knew about it and never questioned about it when the game was on?
LOTS OF MONEY ON PITCHES
It looks as if there is lots of money involved in making pitches these days. A leading club in the island had complained to the authorities that this particular individual had demanded a handsome amount for preparing this pitch, on the sly of course.
