New Youngs SC records first win in Dialog Champions League
New Youngs SC Wennappuwa recorded their first win in the Dialog Champions League Football Super Eight Round when they overcame SL Navy SC 4-1 at the Kelaniya Football Complex yesterday. The competition is being conducted by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka.
New Youngs SC have completed six matches. They have recorded one win, two draws and have suffered three defeats. They are last in the Points Table.
In the first half of the New Youngs vs Navy game, New Youngs led 1-0. The goal was netted in by D. Amaadi in the 21st minute. In the second half M. Fauzan scored in the 47th minute. Sudath Jayalath scored in the 49th minute. Hasitha Priyankara scored in the 80th minute. Navy’s solitary goal was by Chameera Krishantha in the 58th minute
TODAY: Air Force will take on Solid SC at the same venue and time.
Renown are leading the points table 15 points having completed six matches with five wins and one loss. In second place are Blue Star with 14 points having completed six games out of which they have won four and drawn two.
Defending champions Colombo FC are in third place with 13 points. They have completed six matches with four wins, one draw and losing one.
On March 4 is an important date for Renown, Blue Star and Colombo FC. Blue Star will meet SL Army and Renown will clash with Colombo FC.
