Maharaja Palace receives A-star for ‘food safety’

The Maharaja Palace restaurant has bagged the prestigious A* Award of Excellence in recognition of its food safety and hygiene.
The criteria for this award include kitchen hygiene, food safety and the standard of food which is awarded by the Public Health Department.
Situated in the heart of Colombo 7, Maharaja Palace is an elegantly built Indian restaurant specialising in North Indian cuisine. Over the years this venue has stood out as a family-friendly dining space.

The restaurant in a media release said the team led by Executive Chef Mohamed Abubakar has worked tirelessly to make it a favourite premier Indian restaurant in Sri Lanka.

Chef Abubakar said that not many people know of this restaurant. “Some are deceived by its elegant structure and think that it is quite expensive. But actually it’s not. We have always ensured quality food with reasonable prices. Feedback from customers is quite valuable for us to improve.”
In the first floor there are private rooms that could accommodate close to eight people and a lounge area. Family and private functions are usually held in this location since it gives some privacy for the customers.
