FEARFUL OF CONSEQUENCES

There are three Big Wigs behind the incident which marred a key schools rugby game. Inquires are being made from all the schools associations regarding the incident but the chances are that they will not bear much fruit as the associations concerned are fearful what the consequences would be.

REDUCE STAFF

A leading sports body has been asked to reduce their staff and recruit staff on low salaries. This is when there are three managers for a team and one of them is still awaiting a decision but drawing a fat salary for doing practically nothing.

USELESS EQUIPMENT

Still on the same sport. Necessary equipment has been purchased at the rate of Rs. 40,000 and 50 such items have been bought which the experts say: “useless”. What will happen to this equipment? Naturally it will go to waste. It has also been noted that no tenders had been called when the necessary equipment was first purchased.

PURCHASE OF VEHICLES

The purchase of eleven vehicles by a particularly well known sports body is causing a lot of concern these days. These vehicles have been bought randomly and some of those involved in the purchase of these vehicles has no connection, whatsoever, with the sport concerned. The talk is that the Boss of the Sport has given the OK to purchase these vehicles to some of his favourites. This was first pointed out by the Media.

THE KHAKI
CLAD FIGURE

It looks as if all those who have been working against each other at a popular sport have got together. This is because the AGM of this body is around the corner and to bring some respectability to the event a khaki clad figure is expected to take over the helm.

TEEMING WITH MISTAKES

Even the rules re-printed in a popular government paper are teeming with mistakes. This has been printed several times but the mistakes continue to remain. The same can be said of the English and Sinhala prints as well.
