Saunders down Moragasmulla
View(s):Saunders SC beat Moragasmulla SC 1-0 in the City Football League President’s Cup Football Championships at the City Football league grounds yesterday.
In the first half Saunders led 1-0. There was no scoring in the second half. The winning goal for Saunders was netted in by Kirishatha Abeysekera in the 33rd minute.
In the second half Moragasmulla SC’s H.G.S. Priyawansa was shown the Red Card in the 82nd minute. Six teams are taking part in the competition which is being conducted on a league basis.
Colombo FC and Renown SC, champions and runners-up in the Dialog Champions League 2016 and joint champions in the City League President’s Cup Tournament, have suffered defeats in the ongoing competition. Colombo FC suffered a 0-2 defeat to Moragasmulla SC and Renown SC was beaten by Lava Lane SC by 2 goals to nil.
