Two schoolgirls in Youth Netball team to South Korea
View(s):Two schoolgirls have been chosen for the Eleventh Asian Youth Netball Championships from May 7 to 14 in South Korea. They are: L. Rasmi Perera (Presbyterian Balika, Dehiwela) and Tharushi Illangaratne (Visakha Vidyalaya Colombo).
The Sports Minister has given the green light for 15 players including three standbys.
Nadhee Madushika Fernando of Kalutara District Association and Hashini Perera of the Sri Lanka Army have been appointed skipper and deputy skipper of the team respectively. Twelve Asian countries will take part in the contest.
Sri Lanka was the champions of the competition held in Hong Kong in 2015.
