Rajitha’s play on post-war Sri Lanka wins many State Drama Awards
View(s):Veteran playwright Rajitha Dissanayake’s ‘Nethuwa Beri Minihek’ won eight awards including the Best Drama award at this year State Drama Festival held recently.
Rajitha wonthe Best Play, Best Direction and the Best Script awards while Dharmapriya Dias and Shyam Fernando won Best Actor and Best Supporting actor respectively. Bimsara Premaratne won the Best Supporting Actress, Nalin Lusena won a special merit award for his acting and Anuradha Mallawarachchi Best Stage Background.
In addition The Best Actress award was on by Dinusha Kodagoda who played in ‘Giri Kutha Kashyapa’ at the 45th State Drama Festival.
Among other awards Janaka Munasinghe and Krishantha Jayabahu won the Best Actors awards and Jeewanthi Perera won the Best Actress in the short play section.
