When Scope Cinemas launched the new and improved Liberty, it was clear that the company was committed to transforming Sri Lanka’s cinema experience. Apart from the top-notch screens, sound system and seating, Scope had opted to go a few steps further. Food and beverages offered at their cinemas include a greater range than what is currently available at movie theatres.

“‘We want to really step up the game for the cinema experience in the country,” says Naveed Cader, Chairman of Scope Cinemas. “We want to bring back the excitement and nostalgia involved with going out to see a movie. We feel that moviegoers in Sri Lanka have been settling for too little for too long, and we’re looking to raise the bar.”

The soft launch of Liberty by Scope Cinemas took place in April with Fate of the Furious, and a number of screens are set to open around Sri Lanka in the coming months. This month, Scope Cinemas plans to add some old-school flair with the premiere of King Arthur screening 36 hours before the rest of the world; a first for Sri Lanka. The screening will take place at 7 p.m. on May 11 to a VIP audience.

The movie for the event is distributed by Skyline entertainment and consultants Pvt Ltd.The premiere is sponsored by ARTV and Dialog, with TNL Radio as the official media sponsor.
