Keerthi celebrates 40 years in music to support Kidney patients
View(s):The musical show at 7.00 pm on May 20 at the BMICH will have performances representing four stages of his musical journey and there will be music from 70s, 80s and even music from the new generation. Keerthi will sing nearly 30 songs with a full orchestra comprising nearly 25 well-known musicians. The music will be directed by Sarath de Alwis, Mahesh Denipitiya and Nalaka Sajee Jayasinghe and other artistes who are to perform are Annesley Malewana, Erol Fernando, Dhammika Bandara, Samitha Mudunkotuwa, Nirosha Virajani, Nelu Adhiukari, Mariazelle Gunatillake, Kasun Pasquel, Charuni Pasquel and Chethana Ranasinghe.
The show is in aid of building a ‘rest home’ for the kidney patients who come to take treatment at the Anuradhapura hospital from faraway places.
Celebrating four decades in music Keerthi will also release his latest collection of songs ‘Tharu Pokura’ and a few people who helped him in the journey of music will also be felicitated.
Hailing from Kandy, Keerthi studied at Dharmaraja College Kandy and joined late musician Stanely Peiris in his musical bank ‘Galaxies’.
