National Film Corporation Chairman Deepal Chandraratne noted that apart from the success of the event, he was pleased that more screens, equal to the technology at the Liberty would be opened islandwide by Scope Cinemas, as they would elevate the quality of the movie-going experience for the people, and thereby upgrade the entertainment sector in the country.
Scope Cinemas is currently at the forefront of cinema technology with its screens and sound systems at the Liberty being one of the most advanced in the island at present. The company has gained traction among moviegoers in Colombo owing to the formidable changes it hopes to influence within Sri Lanka.
