‘Baywatch’ Dashed from TV to cinema

‘Baywatch’ the cinematic version of popular television series of the same name, is now being screened at leading English theatres in Colombo and suburbs.
Directed by Seth Gordon, the film stars Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass, Ilfenesh Hadera, Priyanka Chopra, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, David Hasselhoff, and Pamela Anderson.
Devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchanan butts heads with a brash new recruit. Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.
Even though there were big hopes and box office prediction, the film got many negative responses as soon as it was released.
A Rotten Tomato comment went as saying, “this Baywatch movie is a saddened disgrace of its source material back in 1989 and that isn’t trying to say enough. Even though it opens a day earlier than intended, this is most likely the quickest method to wasting money on something that was expected to be great in the first place.”
Shot in Miami, Florida and Savannah, Georgia, the film was released by Paramount Pictures on May 25.
