Boyzone to tour in 2018
The popular 90’s Irish boy band Boyzone will make a tour and release new music. Boyzone took to social media by making an announcing on social media on 28th May. They will reunite for a tour in 2018 to mark their 25th anniversary. New music is also on the cards. While the tour is planned for next year, Boyzone will however perform at some exclusive events in the UK later this summer. The group had 18 top 10 UK hits among them chart toppers such as ‘Words’, ‘A Different Beat’, ‘All That I Need’, ‘No Matter What’, ‘When The Going Tough’ and You Needed Me’. Boyzone comprises Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham.
Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee together with Justin Bieber have clocked a third week at the top of the UK singles chart with ‘Despacito’. The song collected a combined 114,000 in the last seven days to retain the No: 1 position.
The song that gave a chase and then became the highest new entry at No: 3 this week is ‘Strip That Down’ by Liam Payne featuring Quavo. The trap/ hip hop and R&B track is the debut single by the One Direction member. He now becomes the fourth and final member of the boy group to release solo material and also successfully make onto the UK top 10.
Charlie Puth has the honour of the second song to make its way to the UK top 10 this week. ‘Attention’ climbed from 12 to No: 9 giving Puth his third UK top 10 hit. ‘Attention’ is written and produced by the singer and is a pop rock mid tempo track featuring a strong baseline line in the chorus. The song will be featured on Puth’s second upcoming second album.
Meanwhile in the aftermath of the bomb explosion at the end of her concert in Manchester, Ariana Grande’s song ‘One Last Time’ has re-entered the UK singles chart at No: 11. It previously peaked at No: 24 in 2015. That song is featured on Grande’s second album ‘My Everything’. Ariana closed her Manchester concert with ‘One Last Time’.
Take That announced they will donate proceeds from their 26th May concert in Liverpool to those affected by the Manchester bomb. The group will also perform in the city this month at a date to be announced later.
Justin Timberlake and Eminem have donated funds to the victims of the Manchester incident according to reports. Over £1.6 million has been collected for the fund organised by the Manchester Evening Standard and the British Red Cross.
Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones has undergone surgery to remove a lesion from his lung according reports. Guitarist, Woods who turned 70 on 1st June is expected to make a full recovery and ready to tour with the Rolling Stones in September.
The Swedish group Roxette will not tour in future as lead vocalist Marie Fredriksson has been advised by her doctors following her health situation. In 2002 she underwent surgery to remove a brain tumour.
