Sudden demise of Appeal Court Judge
View(s):Sitting Court of Appeal Judge Cherine Madawala (nee Perera) passed away suddenly on Friday. She had sat on the bench that morning hearing appeals.
Ms Madawala joined the judicial service as a Magistrate in 1985 after passing out as an Attorney at Law in 1977.
She served in the Tangalle, Avissawella, Matugama and Chilaw areas. She was appointed a Court of Appeal Judge in December 2015. Her Remains lie at 74/24, Jaya Road, Udahamulla, Nugegoda.
Cortege leaves at 3.00 on Monday for burial at General Cemetery, Colombo.
