DC Comic super heroine on silver screen

“Wonder Woman”, a movie woven around super heroine character made based on the DC Comics, is now being screened at theatres in Colombo and suburbs.
Patty Jenkins who was famed for his debut direction ‘Monster’ a movie based on the life of convicted serial killer Aileen Wuornos, has directed ‘Wonder Woman’ to a screenplay by Allan Heinberg. Jenkin, a painter turned filmmaker joined Warner Brother’s to make a film based on the characters from DC Entertainment.
William Moulton Marston, American psychologist and comic book writer first created ‘Wonder Woman’, the character first appeared in All Star Comics in October 1941 and first cover-dated on Sensation Comics January 1942. The title has been published by DC Comics published ‘Wonder Woman’ title almost continuously except for a brief hiatus in 1986.
Warner Brother’s in it media release described ‘Wonder Woman’ as one of the world’s greatest and most powerful super heroes, who is also a fierce Amazon warrior with incredible strength, grace and wisdom, and unparalleled in hand-to-hand combat. Gal Gadot who plays the dual role as Diana Prince and Wonder Woman has described her character as a young idealist who is pure and different to the experienced, super-confident, grown-up woman we have seen.
The movie revolves around the princess of the Amazons who trains to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Gadot is joined in the cast are Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, EwenBremner, Lucy Davis. Lisa LovenKongsli, Eugene Brave Rock and SaïdTaghmaoui.
Started in November, 2015 the film was shot in the United Kingdom, France, and Italy.
