Well known artist and sculptor Manoranjana Herath had the distinction of having his work be the first to be exhibited at Colombo’s newest art venue, ‘The Walawwa – Gallery’, housed in a historic old walawwa (mansion) at No 630, Kotte Road in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.

‘(In)visible Dialogues’ which opened last Sunday will be on till Sunday, June 18, and has 10 of Manoranjana’s compelling sculptures and 15 drawings in both water colours and oils. The gallery is open to the public from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.

While at the Gallery, check out the intimate ‘Walawwa – Café’ which has a menu with salads and sandwiches, fresh juices and of course, coffees. There’s also Walawwa – Cutting Station’, a name that will echo Johann Peries with salon and spa-it might just be the place to spend some time.
