Win for Bandaranaike Gampaha
View(s):Bandaranayake College, Gampaha scored an easy eight wicket victory over Carey College, Colombo in a Sri Lanka Schools Under 17 cricket tournament match played at the Railway Grounds, Mount Mary recently.
Put into bat by Bandaranayake College captain Sasitha Madanayake, the Colombo school batsmen found the left arm and right arm leg spin combination of Janindu Jayawardene and Shehan Madusanka too hot to handle and were dismissed for 55. The two spinners bowling to a fine line and length kept the Carey batsmen in check by varying their deliveries. Only Abdul Rahman managed to enter double figures to be the top scorer with 14 runs. Jayawardene ended up with four scalps for six runs while Madusanka claimed four wickets for five runs. Â - L.R.
