DeLon, also known by his fans and fellow artistes as the ‘King of Ceylon’, has done it yet again, with his fourth studio album set to release this year.  DeLon Jayasinghe is a Sri Lankan descendant, American singer-songwriter, actor, rapper, pianist and record producer.

However before any of this achievement, DeLon is a proud Sri Lankan. DeLon, recently, had an evening with a small crowd at ‘Sooriya Music Village’ in order to give them a feel of the new album. ‘TVT caught up with DeLon at ‘Sooriya Village’ recently, while working with his new project and got a chance to hear about his latest album.

The album will have at least 10 tracks in English and some songs in Sinhala. He explained he doesn’t have enough material for a full Sinhala album yet and admits that he needs to work more his Sinhala and plans to take out the time sometime soon to become fluent as a Sinhala singer.

After singing his new single ‘Aadare’, he sang his classic break out record ‘Hitha’ which was collaboration with rapper Iraj Weeraratne. Afterwards DeLon brought guitar extraordinaire Rolando Emmanuel out to sing backgrounds on a piano piece called ‘Shine’ that will be featured in his new album.

DeLon followed up ‘Shine’ with three more acoustic pieces either featuring him playing the keys or singing his heart out to an acoustic guitar.

With a new outlook on life and a new sound, DeLon is truly touching the hearts of his listeners in a different way. ‘I have something to say, but I want to sing it this time’ said DeLon and added that artistes are always growing and this album is testament to his growth.

The evening ended with a Sinhala song, ‘Saragi Ess’, which is about finding love. DeLon ended the chat statting, ‘I want to thank all my fans and their support and I hope they will continue to support my music’.

He also mentioned that the best way to keep up with his music is to follow him on instagram.com/delonmusic and youtube.com/delonmusic.

He was born in Los Angeles, California to parents from Sri Lanka. After attending college at USC, DeLon released his first album which was critically acclaimed as he became the first artiste of Sri Lankan heritage to be on the US Billboard Charts.

His first Number 1 hit, ‘Jeevithe’ is where he started gaining recognition. Since then, he had other songs which have charted on US Billboards, multiple number one hits in Sri Lanka, including the number one hit on MTV USA. DeLon has also opened for Lil John, Chemical Brothers and Anderson. Paak, and has gone on tour with Lindsey Sterling and Eric Ballinger.
