Kelaniya University reopens on Tuesday (27)
View(s):The University of Kelaniya (UoK) which was closed last week, as around 60% of hostel students did not attend lectures due to various illnesses including viral flu, dengue and diarrhea, will open for academic activities on Tuesday (27) UoK sources said. University Teacher for Social Equity, Co-ordinator Anura Karunatilake said that a shramadana campaign with the participation of lecturers, administrative staff and minor staff, was conducted on Wednesday to clean up dengue breeding sites within the premises and fumigated the place.
“We had a successful campaign,” he said. He said the students had contracted the viral flu because of the contaminated drinking water, following the floods.
