Chandupa and Bimandi win TT Players of the Tournament awards
View(s):Chandupa Alahakoon of Kingswood College, Kandy and Bimandi Bandara of Hillwood College, Kandy won the Maheepala Herath Challenge Trophies as Players of the Tournament in the Boys and Girls categories at the All Island Open Ranking Junior Table Tennis Championships 2017 concluded at the Kegalu Vidyalaya tables last weekend. Alahakoon won the Boys Under 18 Singles title and finished runner-up in the Boys Under 15 event while Bandara won the Under 12 Girls Singles title and runner-up in the Girls Under 15 Singles event was adjudged the Best Players of the Tournament for their top quality play right throughout the tournament where young and up coming TT players were in action.
Maheepala Herath, President of Sri Lanka Table Tennis Association graced the occasion as Guest of Honour and special guests present at the occasion were ITTF coach Arif Khan of Pakistan and TTASL former president Chandana Perera, vice presidents of TTASL Dr. Lalith Liyanage and Rahal Abeyrathne along with Deputy Principal Kegalu Vidyalaya M.A.D.T.
