Indian Envoy urges North students to gain employability thro’ their schols
View(s):India’s High Commissioner (HC) to Sri Lanka Taranjit Singh Sandhu, currently on an official visit to the North, urged the student community and State employees to make use of the Indian-funded scholarships to enrich their academic and professional standards.
He made this observation at a meeting with the Northern Provincial Council (NPC) Cabinet led by C.V. Wigneswaran on Thursday. Noting a lack of interest among students and employees in the region to upgrade their academic records, HC Sandhu said it would be a good opportunity for students to boost their records to find better jobs in the market, as many are protesting demanding jobs within the State sector.
