Pioneer Petes ‘Walk’ their Talk
View(s):The School Development Committee of St. Peters College Bambalapitiya had its ‘Walkathon’ yesterday (July 1) to raise funds for its School Development Project. The proceeds from this ‘Walk’ will go towards the construction of an IT Lab, Model Classroom, Lecture Hall, Science Lab with modern facilities, fully equipped Sports Pavilion Complex in the College grounds and a state-of-the-art Auditorium with a seating capacity of 300.
The Peterites are the pioneers of ‘Walk for a cause’ in Sri Lanka and this is the 4th time they are ‘Walking for a cause”. The first ‘Walkathon’ was held in 1986, to raise funds for the College Swimming pool. St. Peter’s College celebrated its 95th year of excellence this year, while looking forward to celebrate its centenary year in 2022.
The Rector, Rev Fr Trevor Martin, along with the tutorial staff, parents and old boys of the school participated in the march.
