Three Royal TT players to represent Sri Lanka

Three players from the Royal College Table Tennis team and its head coach have been selected to represent Sri Lanka in the 23rd Asian Junior and Cadet Table Tennis Championship, which will be held in Asan, South Korea from June 29 to July 4.
Principal of Royal College - B.A Abeyrathne and officials M.A.M. Riyaz, Shanthi Kumar, Chamara Perera, Gayamal Kariyawasam, Sohan Yapa making the contribution to Virunika Hendahewa, Nimesh Ranchagoda, Thisas Ranchagoda and coach Waruna Wickremasinghe at a simple ceremony held at the school premises
Royal College head coach Wajira Wickremesinghe and paddlers Virunaka Ramith Hendahewa, Nimesh Sankalpa Ranchagoda and Thisas Methkalana Ranchagoda will be the four members from the Reid Avenue School to represent the country.
Virunaka and Nimesh will compete in the Junior Boy’s Cadet Segment while Thisas will be contesting in the Cadet Boy’s event at the six-day event. The Royal paddlers were selected for this Asian Championships on the basis of their excellent performance by winning silver medals at the recently concluded South Asian Regional Championships.
The Royal College Table Tennis has been outstanding during last few years. They won many titles at divisional, national and regional levels. In order to further appreciate and improve this trend Table Tennis Advisory and Management Committee of Royal College Union, supported the representatives by extending a sponsorship by the committee. - NA
