A play on people who yearn for social change through TV
View(s):Udayasri Wickremeratne’s stage direction ‘361’, a play on people who sit in front of the TV and want to change the country, will have a series of shows at different parts of the country.
The play will be staged at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm on July 22 at the of St Anthony’s Sunday School auditorium in Nainamadama, at 6.30 pm on July 28 at Tower hall Colombo and at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm on July 29 at the auditorium of the Karapitiya Medical Faculty.
The play showcases various television programmes and shows how shallow and naive they are.
The cast of ‘361’ includes Gihan Fernando, Umayangana Wickremasinghe, Ruwan Malith Peiris, Chamari Nisansala, Mihiri Priyangani, Rohitha Jayakody, Kusal Maduranga, Ishara Wickremasinghe, Susanga Kahandawala Arachchi and Nayanthara de Silva. Music is by Lalith Wickramarathne, set design, costume design and lighting are done by Llewellin Vanderwall, Nipuni Preksha Mendis, and Mihindu Madhushanka respectively.
Stage management is by Sumedha Prasanna and “361” is presented by Jude Srimal.
