A BIG JOKE
View(s):Since cricket is one of the more popular subject these days cricketing programmes are being followed eagerly over the radio and TV. This particular programme was held late in the night.
There a famous cricketer, manager, coach and a former skipper was the target when the interviewer asked him whether he has played school cricket! In reality it was quite uncalled for he is quite a legend in this country of ours.
Nevertheless the cricketer, unruffled, gave the interviewer a polite answer but at the same asked the beleaguered guy to go study his cricket history.
BAD OMEN NO FUNDS
A top sports body is in a quandary these days as they have no funds in the kitty. Recently the AGM of the body took place but when taking a closer look at the funds available there was only Rs. 15 Lakhs in the kitty. Now they are wondering as to how the salaries of officials could be paid. A close observer of the sport says that they are waiting for funds from the world controlling body to settle these issues. What if the funds do not arrive?
PHOTO CATCHER IN TROUBLE
A photographer attached to a leading sport is in hot water as he had taken the official camera (costing around 8 Lakhs) belonging to the sport for his personal use. Knowing that a storm was brewing over this issue he had returned the camera to a high official of the sport. Can this official help this photo catcher?
‘COMBINED TEAM’
A team playing with the oval ball has a new name now, which is ‘Combined Team.’ This is because a high up in this association has been taking talented players and putting them into this team which also happens to be his old school. Previously too an official had done the same task, but to a different school, to see that they remain on top. This particular official has no post in the sport concerned but is using his political clout to the full.
BACK TO THE TOP
A team which had been out of the competition for nearly four years is now being geared to come into this competition mainly due to an official of the newly elected body. The normal practice is that when a team, however good they may have been, wants to make a comeback, they must start at the bottom and work their way upwards. But with this official paving the way, will this team enjoy its previous success?
MISSILE BURST
A top official belonging to the top Sports body had ordered a large number of javelins for children, which is not correct as they are to be used for seniors as well. The word is going around that the missile had burst and an inquiry is now in the offing.
WASHING AWAY SINS
A junior netball team which participated in a tournament abroad occupied 19th position out of 20. After a tiring journey the team was whisked away to the Head of the Sports Controlling body by officials of the team to explain what had gone wrong. Those who are familiar with the sport say that they wanted to wash away their sins!
