Applications open for “Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award”
View(s):The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has begun inviting applications from Sri Lanka’s corporate firms to compete in the “Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2017,” (BCCS2017) an annual event conducted for the 14th consecutive year.
The competition, which is aimed at encouraging the Lankan companies to adopt best sustainability practices, focuses on all stakeholders of the company ranging from employees, customers, community, shareholders, the Government and the environment. The awards will be made at a ceremony on November 28.
In the meantime, a seminar will be held at the chamber auditorium in Colombo on August 11 at 9.30 am to brief the prospective applicants about the competition, the chamber said in a media release.
“BCCS 2017 has lined up a galaxy of awards to recognise the best performers in corporate sustainability initiatives in Sri Lanka, ranging from the Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2017, top 10 corporate firms, Category awards, Sector awards to top performers of key sectors of the economy and The Best Presented Application,” the release said.
In addition to the main award, the “Best Projects Sustainability Awards 2017″, will recognise exemplary sustainability efforts carried out by companies focusing to serve the people and the planet. The event is an opportunity for local corporate firms to showcase their sustainability initiatives to the public and reach a wider stakeholder group, thus building their corporate reputation among the masses.
