Mabola Malays conduct dengue awareness at Al-Ashraff MV
View(s):The Mabola Malay Association (MMA) conducted a dengue awareness programme for students of Al-Ashraff Maha Vidyalaya,Wattala, on Wednesday (9). Around 250 students and staff attended a lecture by Head of Laboratory Services- Browns Hospital Ragama Feroze (Tony) Lantra.
He enlightened the gathering on the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, explaining the breeding pattern, symptoms of dengue and the prevention and eradication of mosquito breeding sites. A lively Q&A session followed the lecture.
Associated with the lecture were Al Ashraff MV Principal Mohamed Irshad, Vice Principal Ms Subashini, MMA President M.D. (Tony) Saldin, VP/Project Chairperson Dr. Romola Rassool, Gen.Sec. Dirshan Jamal, General Treasurer Haroun Ismail, VP Ms Zainab Hamid, Asst.Gen.Treasurer Rishard Amir and Past President Hajiani Eileen Dane.
