Kuliyapitiya Hospital for Wayamba Uni. Medical Faculty’s clinical training
View(s):The Govt is to take over the Kuliyapitiya Base Hospital for Clinical Training by the Wayamba University’s Medical Faculty to be set up, said Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine, Dr Rajitha Senaratna. The Kuliyapitiya Base Hospital will be developed as a Teaching Hospital.
A discussion to establish a Medical Faculty at Wayamba University was held this week at the Ministry. He disclosed that the policy decision to set up the new Medical Faculty had already been taken.
Decisions to establish Medical Faculties at Sabaragamuwa and Moratuwa University, have also been taken already.
University Grants Commission Chairman Prof Mohan de Silva has been appointed to head a committee to expedite setting up these Faculties.
