Brandix , Omega Line and MAS Holdings qualify for finals

Two teams from Brandix Fast Fashion SC (Avisawella and Mirigama) qualified for finals of the Mercantile Volleyball Championships Super League and Championship women’s categories yesterday.
The first round matches of the competition were played at the Maharagama Youth Service Council (NYSC) outdoor courts.
The completions are being conducted by the Mercantile Volleyball Association (MVA).
In the women’s championship Brandix Fast Fashion SC, Avisawella and Omega Line SC, Sandalankawa has qualified for the finals.
In the Super League women’s finals Brandix Fashion SC, Mirigama and MS Holdings SC, Mawathagama qualified yesterday.
There are three categories in the men and women’s segments. They are Super League (men and women), Championship (men and women), A Division (men and women).
There will be Super League (men), Championship (men) and A Division (men and women) matches today.
The final of all categories will be worked off on September 16 and 17 in Maharagama.
This is the fourth successive year that this tournament is being organised. Over 100 teams from the mercantile sector took part in the tournament.
The winning teams will receive prize monies amounting to Rs. 1.5 million.
The Super League men’s best player will be presented with a motorcycle. The women’s best player will receive a Scooty.
The tournament commenced with a grand opening ceremony. Shakthi Ranatunga, Group Director, Human Resources, MAS Group was the chief guest.
