‘Voices of Praise’ Gospel concert with top stars
View(s):‘Voices of Praise’ is a concert with a difference featuring a host of Sri Lanka’s top entertainers will come alive on 3rd September at the Ladies College Auditorium, Colombo.
This is the first time that a gospel concert will highlight top stars in Sri Lanka’s music firmament. ‘Voices of Praise’ will feature Corrine Almeida, Rukshan Perera, Geoffrey Fernando of Purple Rain fame , Ricky Bahar, Noeline Honter, Sunil and Piyal of Gypsies, Shanelle, Ronnie Leitch, Yasmin and several other artistes., Show will include a trio of brilliant gospel singers Aanjanee, Roshie, and Melanie.
All the featured artistes will move away from their regular brand of pop music and lend their talents to gospel singing, which will make ‘Voices of Praise’ an unusual and memorable experience. Another highlight of the show will be a sing-along session of gospel songs with the stars.
The band providing musical accompaniment is led by Chandral Fonseka, the leader of ‘Kings’ and features Ranil Vaz (Guitar) Viraj Perera Rajanathan (Keyboards) and Roshan De Silva (Drums).
‘Voices of Praise’ has been organised by the Sri Lankan arm of Haggai International, which is a global, non-denominational Christian Ministry with the vision of training leaders in developing countries. The Haggai branch in Sri Lanka has, over the past 30 years, organised leadership Seminars Island wide in Sinhala, Tamil, and English. This Gospel Concert is a fund raiser for proposed Haggai leadership projects.
‘Voices of Praise’ the Gospel Concert with a difference will take the stage on Sunday the 3rd of September at Ladies College Auditorium, Colombo, commencing at 7.00 pm. Tickets are now on sale at Otters Aquatic Club, Bible Society Colombo 3, People’s Church Bookshop Narahenpita, Thai Boulevard Colombo 3 and Calvary Centre Bookshop, Ja Ela.
